RETREAT

LAND AMONG THE ELEMENTS ON A FARM IN THE UPPER PART OF ONE OF NORWAY’S FIVE VALLEY’S

Morning coffee and herbal infusion on the storehouse steps, a gentle landing in the soft embrace of the cultural landscape — and stillness.

THE ROOMS All rooms are different and have their own character. The rooms consist of twin and triple rooms with single beds. There are nine bathrooms on the farm in total.

MEALS We serve either a vegetarian or a traditional menu — one menu for the whole group. We bake the breads on-site and we use organic flour in our baking. Any allergies can be noted in the comments field when you book your place.

THE HEART OF THE FARM In the main house you will find the dining room, where you will enjoy your meals together around the farm's old wooden table. We also light the fire in the hearth where previous generations once prepared their food over open flames.

WOOD-FIRED SAUNA The wood-fired sauna and the circular fire pit cabin sit right next to each other. On the large flat lawn in the middle of the farm, there are several seating areas and a fire pit.

THE AREA AROUND THE FARM The farm is set in an idyllic and rural landscape, right by the fjord and the river. Forest roads and trails lead straight up into the hillsides on both sides. The mountain municipality of Nore og Uvdal in upper Numedal — at the foot of the Hardangervidda plateau — is rich in nature and culture.
